## Habilitation
At the Faculty of Geosciences, habilitation is possible in the subjects represented at the faculty.
**§1 of the habilitation regulations**
**Aim of the habilitation**\
The habilitation serves to formally establish the academic and pedagogical aptitude to become a professor in a subject area of the Faculty of Geosciences (teaching qualification). The subject area must be represented by a professorship in the Faculty. The aim of the habilitation procedure is to give particularly talented young academics the opportunity to take on independent teaching and research tasks and thus qualify for appointment to a professorship.
