Chemistry is the natural science that deals with the structure, properties, transformation and synthesis of chemical substances. Pharmacy is an interdisciplinary science that deals with the nature, action, development, testing, manufacture and dispensing of drugs. The chemical and pharmaceutical industries are very important sectors of the economy: In Germany, the turnover of the 20 chemical and pharmaceutical companies with the highest turnover is over 250 billion euros and the number of employees is over 900,000. Our faculty conducts research on a wide range of relevant contemporary research issues.
