Begleiten Sie uns auf unserem Weg bei der Synthese neuer Materialen und des Designs nachhaltiger Energiekonversions-
und Energiespeichersysteme für eine bessere Zukunft.
Ziel des Forschungsschwerpunktes Material- & Energieforschung und des DFG- Exzellenzclusters „e-conversion“ ist die Entwicklung nachhaltiger Energiekonversions- und Energiespeichersysteme. Hierzu werden sowohl die Synthese neuer Materialien, als auch grundlegende mechanistische Untersuchungen zum Verständnis mikroskopischer Energiekonversionsprozesse und deren gezielte Kontrolle durchgeführt. Diese Forschungsarbeiten bilden die Grundlage für eine ganze Reihe von Anwendungen, insbesondere für neuartige nachhaltige Solarzellen, für die elektrochemische, photokatalytische sowie photoelektro-chemische Wasserstofferzeugung sowie die elektrochemische Energiespeicherung in neuen Batteriekonzepten. Die besondere Forschungsstrategie des Clusters fokusiert auf grundlegenden mechanistischen Fragen der Energieumwandlungsprozesse an Grenzflächen, die z.B. in Solarzellen, Elektrolyseuren bis hin zu Batterien allgegenwärtig sind, vorangebracht durch die optimale Nutzung von Synergien zwischen Synthese, Operando-Studien, theoretischer Modellierung, Nano-Wissenschaften und Gerätedesign. Der Forschungsschwerpunkt lebt dabei von der engen Kooperation von Expertengruppen innerhalb der Chemie, der Physik und der Biologie.
