# Welcome to the 1st semester in the Master of Chemistry

Here you will find help for the first steps in your studies.

- **Enrollment / Matriculation\**After the [eligibility process](https://www.cup.lmu.de/en/study/study-programs/master-chemistry/) and **receipt of the acceptance letter** from the Department of Chemistry, the following steps must be taken:
  - 1) Issuance of the **online enrollment application** and **postal enrollment** at LMU at the [Studentenkanzlei (Student Office)](https://www.lmu.de/de/studium/wichtige-kontakte/studentenkanzlei/index.html "Link opens in a new window") on the mentioned [enrollment dates](https://www.lmu.de/de/studium/wichtige-kontakte/studentenkanzlei/immatrikulationstermine/index.html "Link opens in a new window"). Filling out the online form does not constitute enrollment! ([further information](https://www.lmu.de/de/studium/hochschulzugang/bewerbung-zulassung-und-immatrikulation/index.html "Link opens in a new window"))
  - 2) **International applicants** must enroll in **via post** at the [International Office](https://www.lmu.de/de/studium/internationale-vollzeit-studierende/immatrikulation/index.html "Link opens in a new window").

- **Start of studies**\
  The [lecture period](https://www.lmu.de/de/studium/internationale-vollzeit-studierende/immatrikulation/index.html "Link opens in a new window") begins in the winter semester in mid-October; in the summer semester, it begins in mid-April, always on Monday afternoon, with an introduction to the program. Before that there is nothing to take etc. You will find your timetable on our web pages, or in the [Online Course-Catalogue (LSF)](https://lsf.verwaltung.uni-muenchen.de "Link opens in a new window").
- Here you can inform yourself in advance with the help of [videos](https://www.cup.lmu.de/en/study/study-programs/master-chemistry/intro-videos/) about the course of studies etc.
