**ERC Advanced Grants**

The ERC Advanced Grants (up to 3.5 million euros over a maximum of five years) are aimed at established scientists in all disciplines whose highly innovative research goes significantly beyond the current state of research and opens up new research areas.

**ERC Synergy-Grants**

The European Research Council (ERC) supports projects that “push the frontiers of knowledge” through interdisciplinary collaboration via its highly competitive Synergy Grant. Interdisciplinary teams of two to four scientists receive up to €14 million in funding for six years.
