In the latest Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) by the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong (UGC), HKUST Business School takes on the No.1 overall standing in Business & Economics Panel, as “World Leading” and “Internationally Excellent” among all HK universities.

Thanks to world-class research by our faculty, the impressive results in this round of RAE encourage our ongoing effort in driving excellence and reinforce our leading position in research as we also ranked No.1 in the last RAE exercise in 2014.

In addition to research output, the RAE 2020 included new assessment elements in research impact and research environment. The performance of our research in the latest RAE reflects their broader social relevance. As a responsible citizen, we will continue working hard with industries and communities to ensure that our research findings are applicable with positive impacts to the society.

RAE assesses the performance of all UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong based on their research quality by using international benchmarks to delineate their relative strengths. Details of the latest RAE results can be found here.
