Catrina De Rivera
Catrina De Rivera is a sixth-year graduate student, who is currently completing her dissertation, "Abject Legacy: Guilt, Shame, and Transgenerational Trauma," under the direction of Professors Eric Rentschler, Nicole Suetterlin, and Fatima Naqvi (Yale University). "Abject Legacy" investigates some of the major shifts in memory discourse since the turn of the century, focusing on authors and directors descended from perpetrators who experiment with new approaches towards their families' pasts.
Before coming to Harvard, Robert studied German Literature and History at the University of Vienna and was a research assistant at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for the History and Theory of Biography. At Harvard, Robert continues to specialize in literature from the turn of the 20th century, while also working on questions of knowledge formation and transformation, as well as cultural theory. Aleks Kudryashova is a PhD student based in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures and the Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies at Harvard University. Before joining the program, Aleks completed a Research Master in Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) and worked as coordinator and public affairs manager at the German Historical Institute Moscow (DHIM).
Daniel Carranza joined the department in the Fall of 2020 as a Fellow in Germanic Languages and Literatures. Dr. Carranza, who received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, joined the department’s faculty in July 2022 as Assistant Professor of Germanic Languages and Literatures.
