Harvard owns more land in Boston than in Cambridge, and the University’s footprint in the Allston neighborhood has rapidly expanded. SEAS is the primary occupant of the 500,000+ square foot [Science and Engineering Complex](/tour/allston/1/science-and-engineering-complex-sec) (SEC).
The SEC features state-of-the-art classrooms, active learning labs, maker space, faculty labs, community space and a café. Green design makes it one of the most [environmentally sustainable facilities](/tour/allston/8/sustainability) of its kind. The SEC and the classroom and administrative office building at 114 Western Ave. are located across the street from the Harvard Business School campus, the [Harvard Innovation Lab](https://innovationlabs.harvard.edu/), [Life Lab](https://innovationlabs.harvard.edu/labs/pagliuca-harvard-life-lab), and [ArtLab](https://artlab.harvard.edu/).
Allston houses the SEAS Bioengineering, Computer Science, Data Science, and Computational Science and Engineering programs, some Electrical Engineering and Materials Science/Mechanical Engineering faculty, and most SEAS administrative offices.
The immediate neighborhood is also the future home of an [expansive innovation campus](/about-us/visit-us/allston/enterprise-research-campus) that will include lab and office space for technology- and life science-focused startups and mature companies, market-rate housing, and a hotel and conference center.
