Prevention Team

We All Have a Role to Play in Preventing Harm.

Prevention can take many forms.

On some days, it might look like caring for ourselves as we heal from harm. At other times, choosing to be an active bystander is the most powerful thing we can do.

Every day, choosing to be accountable to ourselves and our relationships is the work of prevention. All the time, honoring consent in connecting with others helps to shape a safer environment for everyone.

No matter how you take part, your presence in our community matters and your efforts to prevent harm make a difference at Harvard.

Community Reading Group for Faculty and Staff

The Prevention Team launching a Spring 2026 community reading group for Harvard faculty and staff. This reading group strives to be an inclusive, connected learning community that cultivates practice tools for empathic and constructive dialogue. We invite you to help us spread the word!

The Spring 2026 selected text is entitled, Calling In: How to Start Making Change with Those You’d Rather Cancelby Loretta J. Ross. Those who join the reading group will receive a copy of the text and participate in 10 weekly discussion sessions beginning Tuesday, January 26, 2026.
