Wintersession
Wintersession, the last week of Winter Recess, is typically a time when students return to campus early to participate in programs that encourage personal reflection, intellectual curiosity, social interaction, and wellness. Student Organizations can submit their programs to be included in the Calendar of Wintersession programs.
2026 Programs
Wintersession will take place from January 16 to January 25, 2026.

Wintersession programs are:
- Held in person or virtually
- Optional
- Not offered for credit
- Mostly free of charge (a few include small fees)
Many offices and departments across the Harvard community offer a variety of programs throughout Wintersession. Their programs will also be listed on the Wintersession Calendar.
Housing
Students planning to return to campus during any portion of before Wintersession begins, must apply for Winter Recess housing. If you will be on campus for Wintersession only, then you do not need to apply for Winter Recess Housing.
