## Questions about concentrating in ESPP?

Welcome!  If you are considering ESPP as your concentration, we recommend taking an introductory course in your first year. It’s also helpful to start [math](https://espp.fas.harvard.edu/mathstat-course-options) and chemistry early, if your schedule allows. These courses will introduce you to core environmental topics and give you the background needed for advanced coursework in ESPP.  [Full list of ESPP course requirements](https://espp.fas.harvard.edu/new-concentrationrequirements). If you have any questions about course selection or the concentration, ESPP advisors are happy to help you plan your studies/courses.

Introductory Course (choose one):

- EPS 50: The Fluid Earth: Oceans, Atmosphere, Climate, and Environment (spring)
- E-PSCI 6: Introduction to Environmental Science and Engineering (fall; Math 1B concurrently or as a pre-req)
- GE 1158: Water and the Environment (spring)
- [GE 1094:] The Climate-Energy Challenge
- [GE 1085:] Energy Resources and the Environment
- [GE 1137:] The Challenge of Human Induced Climate Change: Transitioning to a Post Fossil Fuel Future
