TimelyCare FAQs

What is TimelyCare?

TimelyCare is the virtual health and well-being platform Harvard has partnered with to expand access to mental health and wellness services for students.

Who can use TimelyCare?

To be eligible for TimelyCare services, you must be an active registered Harvard student, have an active student Harvard email address, and have Student Health Fee coverage.

Note: Graduated students no longer have a valid student Harvard email address upon graduation and, therefore, are not considered active registered Harvard students.

How do I log in?

Go to https://app.TimelyCare.com/auth/login or download the TimelyCare app to access care.  You must use your Harvard student email address to register for an account. If you have a secondary Harvard email address, please be sure to use your student email.

How much does a visit cost?

There is no cost associated with TimelyCare services.

Eligible students are covered for up to 12 no-cost counseling sessions each academic year (8/1-7/31) as well as unlimited health coaching and TalkNow sessions. Psychiatry services are available by referral from CAMHS. Self-guided wellness content and the peer community forum are available 24/7.

What can I be treated for?

TimelyCare’s providers can offer support for a wide range of common mental health concerns and, after talking to you, will decide on the best course of treatment.

What services are available?

Do I need to be referred by CAMHS to access TimelyCare services?

Students can schedule counseling and health coaching visits, as well as access TalkNow, self-care resources, and the peer support community, without a referral from CAMHS.

TimelyCare psychiatry services are available by referral from CAMHS.

Can I use TimelyCare if I am traveling abroad?

Several TimelyCare app features are available for registered students who are traveling internationally:

However, mental health counseling and psychiatry are not available outside of the United States. Please refer to resources for international students seeking mental health support.

Students who would like to use the available TimelyCare app resources need to use a US-based phone and download the TimelyCare app before going abroad. If that is not an option, students can use the web platform at TimelyCare.com/harvard with a US-based VPN. Note: Students need to either use a U.S. phone to access the TimelyCare app or a U.S. VPN for the web platform at TimelyCare.com/harvard.

International SOS program: Harvard travelers can use International SOS or their provider’s insurance coverage, if applicable, to identify and connect with a local mental health professional. Under the International SOS program, travelers have access to up to five (5) emotional support counseling sessions.  To access this service, contact International SOS by phone at +1-617-998-0000 or start a chat or phone call through the Assistance App. You should download the Assistance App before departure.
