# Orientation Welcoming Committee

## Being a member of the Orientation Welcoming Committee is an exciting way for you leave your mark and make a difference in the Harvard experience.

### About the Role

The Orientation Welcoming Committee is an opportunity for upper-level students to have a role in Orientation and help shape the student experience for the incoming class.

**The Orientation Welcoming Committee creates a welcoming, exciting environment for first-year students by:**

- Planning and executing social activities and events throughout the course of Orientation
- Providing opportunities for incoming students to connect with their class, the College, and the greater community

### Responsibilities

All Orientation Welcoming Committee Members arrive to campus the week before Move-In Day to be ready to help welcome the incoming class to campus. These student leaders:

- **Are cheerful faces** that greet new students on Move-In Day
- **Are available to new students and their families** to answer questions during Orientation
- **Staff several Orientation programs** and activities, including Convocation
- **Serve as positive role models** and resources for new students
