## Invite faculty to dinner in Annenberg
First-year students have the opportunity to attend a special dinner in Annenberg once a semester. The dinner is a great way to get to know faculty and staff better, and to engage them in conversations about their academic work, research, career path, or general interests. Who you invite is up to you! Examples of people you may want to invite include: professors, teaching fellows, preceptors, proctors, coaches, advisers, deans, or other administrators.

How to Invite Your Guest
## What to Expect at Dinner
### Dinner Logistics
- Annenberg's chefs plan a special menu for the occasion, with flowers decorating the tables.\
- Students can utilize their meal swipe for entry, and guests' meals are accounted for by the FYE and HUDS.\
- Dressy attire, like First-Year Convocation, is suggested: skirts, slacks, blouses, button-down shirts, blazers, ties, and nice shoes. No jeans or sneakers.\
- Make plans for where you would like to meet your guest, and exchange contact information. We recommend designating a spot **outside of Memorial Hall** so that you can easily meet up with your guest.\
- **Students and guests are welcome to arrive any time between 4:30 and 7:30 pm.**Note that a fairly long time period has been set aside for dinner so that some people can come earlier and others later, at their convenience and without overcrowding. \
- **All first-year students are welcome, even if you aren’t attending with a guest!**You may also choose to join a friend and their guest at dinner if you see an available space. Please note that the dinner can get very crowded, and it may be best to eat earlier in the evening if you want to avoid crowds.

*Dear Dean Dumbledore,*\
\
*I hope this email finds you well. I greatly appreciated your advice about course selection; the freshman seminar with Professor McGonagall is fantastic! If you are available, would you be interested in joining me for the First-Year Faculty Dinner in Annenberg? The dinner is on Wednesday, November 5th, and we could eat anytime between 4:30 and 7:30 pm, whenever is most convenient for you. Please let me know whether you can attend.*
*With thanks and best wishes,*
*Chris A. Student*
