  1. Visa Application

New international faculty members are required to obtain an E-1 Professor visa in order to enter Korea and perform work at Yonsei University.

Once you decide to join Yonsei as a professor, the Office of International Affairs will send you an email with the information for your visa application.

You can choose one of the two options below.

  1. Apply for a E-1 visa through Korea Visa Portal online
  2. Submit visa application documents to the OIA. Once the Immigration Office notifies OIA of your visa issuance approval number, details will be sent to you via e-mail.

  1. Housing Arrangement

  1. Insurance

All foreigners working in Korea are obliged to be insured by Korea National Health Insurance to prepare for unexpected accidents or diseases. Health insurance-related regulations and enrollment information will be informed at the new faculty orientation.

  1. Booking Flight Ticket

It is recommended that you book your flight ticket to arrive before the orientation date. The new faculty orientation details will be sent to newly employed full-time faculty from the Office of Academic Affairs.

  1. Organizing Your Finance

Before you come to Yonsei, you should figure out your estimated overall monthly or annual budget and how you will handle various payments. You should also have some money on hand for initial expenses.
