Prospects and Career after Graduation

The curriculum of the Department of Child and Family Studies is comprised of courses that teach students foundational perspectives about children and families from an ecological perspective, basic principles and theories about early childhood education that are based on general principles and theories about human and child development, various concepts and theories about families, and relevant historical, social, and philosophical information. Students can also take classes that help them grow as experts on children and families by providing them with field experiences and teaching them systematic research methods based on an in-depth understanding of theories and specialized content.

Yonsei University’s Department of Child and Family Studies was the first independent academic department to formally teach and study this area in South Korea and is leading the advancement of the field by serving as a center for child studies in South Korea. Recently, the scope of child research has widened to include infancy and senescence. The areas where our graduates have been employed are presented in the table below.
