Transportation cards can be purchased at the ticket vending machines in the subway station or at convenience stores (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, Ministop.)

Note: You need to activate the public transportation card function at Wooribank when using the Yonsei ID card as a T-money card

STEP 2: Recharge & Checking the balance

The cards can be recharged at convenience stores or at the vending machines in the subway stations with cash only.\ The balance amount on your transportation card can be checked at vending machines, convenience stores, online (app), or at some bus stations.

Recharging a large amount to the card is not recommended as the card may be lost or stolen.

With a T-money or Cashbee card, you can transfer for free or at discounted price to another bus, EXCEPT the same number bus as the one you got off from, or to a metro (up to 4 times). The transfer must be within 30 minutes after tapping the card from the previous transportation. After 9 pm~ 7 am, transfer time is an hour. Please note that you cannot transfer from subway ↔ subway for free if you pass through the gates and tap your card out.

To transfer, you must tap the transportation card on the machine when getting off, otherwise you will be charged a full fee at the transfer and tap again when getting on the transferred bus/metro.
