Everyday Engineering is a program for 7th and 8th grade students that demonstrates how engineering is all around us.
The goal of the program is to get middle school students to think about their environments with more curious eyes and to help them see everyday objects like sports equipment, food, electronics, or furniture in a way that prompts them to ask questions such as:
- What problem does this solve?
- Who has the problem?
- Why is it important to solve the problem?
- How does engineering help to solve the problem?
Students will learn about the different engineering disciplines through recognizable examples, see online exhibits, and interact with CMU engineering students.
