Doctoral Research Group "Digital Law"

In cooperation with Ulm University, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Heidelberg University are offering highly qualified graduates the opportunity to do their doctorate in the field of digital law as part of a doctoral research group established on July 1, 2017.

The doctoral candidates carry out fundamental research to prepare and accompany the development of legal expert systems. They deal with questions of legal theory relating to the use of artificial intelligence in law and reflect on the methodological and constitutional requirements for the use of self-learning and probability-based systems.
