Doctorate

The doctoral degree consists of a scientific thesis (dissertation) and the following oral examination (disputation). Upon successful completion of both the written and oral components of the doctoral process, the Faculty of Mathematics, Engineering and Natural Sciences usually confers the academic degree of Doctor of Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat.).
