# Foundations and organizations for the promotion of young talent

## General information

In Germany there are **13 funding organizations for the promotion of young talent** (*Begabtenförderungswerke*). These organizations are carried by different societal agencies (political parties, churches etc.) and all organizations award doctoral fellowships.\

### Avicenna-Studienwerk

The Avicenna-Studienwerk is the first Muslim organization for the promotion of young talent in Germany.

### Cusanuswerk e.V.

The Cusanuswerk is the organization for the promotion of young talent of the Catholic Church in Germany.

### Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk (ELES)

Jewish organization for the promotion of young talent.

### Evangelisches Studienwerk e.V. Villigst

The organization for the promotion of young talent of the Protestant Church in Germany funds 1.000 students of all disciplines as well as 250 doctoral candidates.

### Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES)

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is the oldest political foundation in Germany.

### The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF)

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom is a foundation in Germany devoted to the promotion of liberal principles.

### Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSS)

The scholarships offered by the Institute for Scholarship Programs of the CSU-affiliated Hanns Seidel Foundation consist of both conceptual and financial support. The aim is to contribute to the education of personally and academically qualified young academics.

### The Hans Böckler Foundation (HBS)

The Hans Böckler Foundation is the organization for the promotion of young talent of the DGB, the Confederation of German Trade Unions.

The Heinrich Böll Foundation is the green political foundation.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung is oriented towards Christian Democratic social and political values and is one of the biggest organizations for the promotion of young talent in Germany.

### Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS)

The foundation represents the main current of democratic socialism.

### Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft (sdw)

The foundation is named after its founder, the entrepreneur and former president of the Employer Association Klaus Murmann.
