As a student, you can become involved in academic self-governance through a number of committees, either by voting or through active committee work.
You can find information about relevant committees at Technische Universität Berlin on the following website: https://www.tu.berlin/go152809/
By completing the section on committee elections, you can choose which institute you would like to vote for at the institute council elections. As a member of the University, you will automatically be included in the respective electoral roll for all other committees.
Institute council elections
After enrolment, you can inform the Office of Student Affairs at TU Berlin of your choice. It is important to note that a desired change will only become effective for the coming semester after an informal request via the e-mail address change.institute(at)studsek.tu-berlin.de and subsequent registration/approval by the Office of Student Affairs. Please include the four-digit number combination from the lists below. Example: 3131 - Institut für Philosophie, Literatur-, Wissenschafts- und Technikgeschichte
Notice: If you do not choose an institute or an institute that is not assigned to your course of study, you will not be able to exercise your right to vote.
Please find out in good time before election day which faculty institute you are entitled to vote for. You can find out your currently registered voting option by creating the document “Bescheinigung für Gremienwahlen” via "Study & Teaching" in the app “Notices and Certificates” in your TU-portal (tuPORT). You can also use this document to inform the Office of Student Affairs of your preferred election option or a change. - Students enrolled in more than one degree program at Technische Universität Berlin may only vote in committee elections in one of the degree programs.
