The following provides an overview of the documents you need to upload when applying and registering, organized by degree/program type. This overview aims to make things easier for you by providing you in advance with the information you need concerning application and registration.

The required documents must be submitted with the respective application via your personal TUB account (tuPORT) on the TU application portal.

Access application portal

Please check well in advance of the application deadline whether you have access to the TU portal (tuPORT). If you already have an active TU account, have successfully logged into the TU portal (tuPORT), and can see the “Study & Teaching” app, you can start your application right away.

If you are not yet able to log in to the TU portal (tuPORT), please request access in good time at the beginning of the application phase: link to create application access\ This does not oblige you to apply, but it does give you the opportunity to get help in case of errors.

At the end of the application period, the server may be overloaded, meaning that access may not always be possible immediately. If you encounter technical problems, please contact support as soon as possible.

Please note: You cannot submit an application without access to the TU portal (tuPORT).

This is how you help us review your documents faster:

Format and size of uploads:

Please note that TU Berlin reserves the right to request original documents or officially certified copies of uploaded documents on a random basis or in cases of doubt concerning the authenticity or suitability of documents.

If the documents required for the application or registration were not issued in German or English, a certified translation into German or English must also be included.

Here you will find detailed explanations about the status of your application.

Information on data protection: Be sure to mark your personal document as a copy. You can black out any unnecessary data. Your full name, date of birth, and if applicable, registered address, such as when applying for consideration in the quota of minor applicants, are needed.

Underage students and applicants are capable of acting independently in all matters concerning their studies at their respective university, as long as they have reached the age of 16 (Section 9 (4) Berlin Higher Education Act).
