If you have already completed semesters of study and coursework beyond your first university degree, you are either a lateral entry student, re-registrant, or university transfer student (discontinued April 2020). Regardless how you are required to apply, your application must be submitted in full by the deadline. TU Berlin does not offer an application for transfer to another degree program for master’s programs.
Application for a higher semester is only possible if the first university degree (usually Bachelor) has been completed.
Lateral Entry in a master's program
If you would like to begin master’s studies at TU Berlin in a higher degree semester and have completed semesters of study and coursework at TU Berlin or another university (Germany or abroad) which extend beyond your first university degree, you are a lateral entry student. As a lateral entry student you can apply for the first or a higher degree semester.
Re-Enrollment in a master's program
If you were previously enrolled in the same master’s program at TU Berlin and would like to resume your studies, you are a re-registrant. When re-registering, you can only apply after completing your first university degree (usually a bachelor's degree) and for the semester you were placed in by the TU Berlin examination board.
