Raising a child or caring for a family member while successfully studying is a balancing act. This can lead to many questions: How can I organize and schedule my studies? When does it make sense to study part-time or take a leave of absence? What financial aid is available? Students who have to fulfill family demands aside from their studies can take advantage of several suitable services at TU Berlin that help them to master these situations successfully.

**Studying as a parent**

The [Academic Advising Service](https://www.tu.berlin/en/studienberatung/advising-information/studying-with-children) at TU Berlin offers students who are parents an overview of both university and non-university support services as well as advising on how to best combine studies with parental obligations.

**Studying and caring for relatives**

An acute care situation or the longer-term care of family members can make it challenging to combine related responsibilities with your studies. Information, advising, and numerous offers to make it is easier to study while caring for a loved one or raising a child can be found at the [Family Services Office](https://www.tu.berlin/en/working-at-tu-berlin/working-life/work-family) of TU Berlin. The Family Services Office is the central point of contact for all TU Berlin employees and students with questions about combing studies/work and family life.
