The transfer of knowledge and findings to society and the integration of knowledge and impulses from industry and society into research and teaching are a key part of Technische Universität Berlin’s identity. Reciprocal interaction is vital for finding solutions to current and future social challenges.

To review how Technische Universität Berlin’s existing strength in the area of transfer can be developed the research transfer advisory council within the framework of an audit conducted by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft on knowledge and technology transfer was established .

The council is made up of professors from all of the University’s faculties. The council focuses on teaching activities; funding start-ups; exchanging knowledge with society, political decision-makers, and industry; and patents and (open access) publications.
