# Updating Personal Information

Has your address or other personal information changed, for example because you moved or married and changed your name? Do you have a new health insurer? Be sure to inform us of such changes in good time.

TU Berlin students can easily update their address or phone number themselves in their TU-portal ([tuPORT](https://tuport.sap.tu-berlin.de/)). Just log in on our homepage to be taken to your personal account via "Study & Teaching" and use the app "Personal Details". You will need a TAN (iTAN, mTAN or TOTP) to log in.

If you are not yet enrolled (e.g. applicant) or do not yet have access to TU-portal (tuPORT), you can request a change via [contact form](https://www.tu.berlin/en/studienberatung/studieninfoservice). Unfortunately, requests made by phone cannot be accepted.

If you changed your surname, name, gender or nationality you have to submit a change request in your TU-portal ([tuPORT](https://tuport.sap.tu-berlin.de/)). To do this open the app "Study & Teaching", choose the app "My Requests" and upload the official supporting documents as well. Please remember to save or print out all certificates and notifications with the previous data from tuPORT before changing the data. After a master data change, the certificates will be made available with the new data.
