In the event that study places in degree programs with restricted admission (with Numerus Clausus) have not been allocated after the completion of the admission procedure, these study places will be allocated using a lottery system.

If there are still places available in bachelor's degree programs with restricted admission, a lottery will be held directly at TU Berlin for the first semester.\ TU-specific lottery procedures will only take place if places remain unfilled after the regular allocation procedure.

For the summer semester 2026, a TU lottery system will take place for the first degree semester in the degree programs mentioned below:

If, after completion of the admission procedure, there are still places available in Bachelor's programs with restricted admission (with numerus clausus) in higher semesters, these will be allocated by lottery for the higher semester.

  1. Requirements for applying for a higher semester\ If you have already completed coursework and examinations and would like to apply for a higher degree semester, you will need a degree semester placement for the higher semester in order to apply.\ If you were previously enrolled at TU Berlin and would like to apply for the same degree program with the same study and examination regulations, you are considered a re-registrant.\ As a re-registrant, you always need a degree semester placement from the relevant examination board at TU Berlin.\
  2. Applications can be submitted via the TU Berlin application portal until the end of the respective application period and are paperless and online.\
  3. Number of applications\ Only one application may be submitted for the lottery procedure for higher semesters.\
  4. In the Checklist for Application and Registration you will find the link to the TU Berlin application portal and an overview of the documents you need to upload for your application.\ Please note that you must already meet the legal requirements for admission to a degree program at the time of aplication. This means that you must have a general or subject-specific university entrance qualification (German educational qualifications or professional qualification) or a foreign direct university entrance qualification in the required form for the degree program you are applying for. If you have only obtained foreign educational qualifications, you must also be able to prove that you have the required German language skills.\
