The options for pursuing a successful academic career at Technische Universität Berlin, including degree programs, doctoral programs and postdoc work, provide an effective incentive for attracting new talent. Maximizing diversity has an important role to play in this process. With regard to doctoral studies, this includes the option to complete a dissertation within an academic chair, cooperative forms of supervision as well as the opportunity to complete external dissertations in collaboration with industry. For the postdoc phase, the focus is on projects, junior research groups, and junior professorships. A targeted flexibilization of the professorial system and new Tenure Track procedures will allow select junior professors to advance to the next level at Technische Universität Berlin. This concept is intended to enable the University to advance outstanding junior scholars and strengthen their commitment to a future at Technische Universität Berlin, while at the same time developing promising new areas of research.
The **Center for Junior Scholars (CJS)** is the central institution for the advancement of junior scholars at Technische Universität Berlin.\
We offer comprehensive networking and advisory services and proactively support the further development and cultivation of excellent support for young academics at Technische Universität Berlin, which is oriented towards latest quality standards and current strategic developments.\
Doctoral candidates and postdocs are offered advice on administrative and organisational issues, on problems or conflicts in the supervision relationship, and on the preparation of applications in the area of junior researchers. We also provide information on calls for scholarships and prizes, on courses for interdisciplinary further education and on funding opportunities for travel and mobility.

Students obtaining a sufficiently good average grade in their first degree programs are in a particularly good position to pursue this option. They will also need to find a doctoral supervisor.
