Technische Universität Berlin can look back on a long tradition of scientific excellence. Numerous researchers, graduates, and members of the University have been honored over the years for their outstanding contributions to science, technology, and society – both at national and international level.
These awards have included Nobel Prizes, Leibniz Prizes, and many other prestigious awards, reflecting the high standards of research, innovation, and social responsibility that TU Berlin embodies.
In addition to external awards, TU Berlin also presents its own awards in recognition of outstanding achievements in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer, as well as commitment to important social issues and the cause of science. With awards such as honorary doctorates, the Clara-von-Simson Award, and the Prize for Exemplary Teaching, the University recognizes the special achievements of its members.
On this page, we present a selection of the most significant awards received by members of TU Berlin or, in the case of the Nobel Prizes its predecessor institution, in recognition of their achievements and as inspiration for future generations.
