‌The University of Glasgow is carving a world-class reputation as experts in data science and artificial intelligence.  We have more than than 90 academics and PhD students active in information retrieval, human-computer interaction, computational inference, spatio-temporal models and visualisation.

Our sought-after data science practitioners apply machine learning algorithms to numbers, text, images, video, audio, and more to produce AI systems which perform tasks that ordinarily require human intelligence. In turn, these systems generate insights which analysts and business users can translate into tangible business value in areas as diverse as environmental monitoring, technology, media and consumer products, fundamental science, systems biology, neuro-imaging and urban systems.
