Purchase membership

Where can buy a membership?

As a SiO Athletica member, you get a wide and versatile training offer at student-friendly prices. You do not have to be a student to become a member, but you must be a student to get student price.Buy membership online or by visiting one of our receptions.

Why cant I buy membership to student pice even though I am a student?

If you have tried to register online, but do not receive a student price, it is because we have not registered paid semester fees for your user yet. If you have paid the semester fee, you can turn up at one of our training centers and we will help you there.

How much does a membership costs?

The membership price will vary whether you buy membership with a commitment period or not, and according to which school you study at. The various schools support their students with financial contributions to SiO Athletica to varying degrees, which means that the price of membership varies according to the place of study.See our prices here.

I would like to have trial session before I sign up, is that possible?

If you are a student and live in Oslo, you can get one free trial session so you can test a club.

Direct Debit and invoice

How do I pay for the membership?

You pay for the remaining days of the current month and the entire next month when you buy the membership. If you choose a membership without a commitment period, there is an initial fee of NOK 100 upon registration. After this you have to pay monthly for your membership. We recommend you to activate direct debit (Avtalegiro) if you have a Norwegian bank account. If you do not activate direct debit you will receive the invoice by email, and you have to pay it manually.If you do not have a Norwegian bank account, we remind you that you have to pay your monthly invoices at My page at sio.no/en.

Which account and KID number should I use?

The account number of SiO Athletica can be found on the invoice you have received. Note that a payment must contain the correct KID number to be associated with your invoice.You can find your KID number on your last invoice. If you do not have the agreement or an invoice, log in to My Side at sio.no and find your KID number under "My finances". You can also contact one of our receptions or send us a message via the contact form.

What happens if I pay to late?

If you have an unpaid invoice that you cannot find, you can contact SiO Athletica. You can visit one of our receptions or send us a message.We will help you retrieve the invoice so that you either pay directly at the reception or receive the payment information. If the invoice is not paid within the due date, the matter will be forwarded to the debt collection company Kredinor for payment follow-up. If the invoice is overdue and sent to Kredinor, you must contact them directly to follow up on your case. Note that it takes a couple of days from the time you pay until your payment is registered. If you have received a reminder, but think you have paid, you send payment information/receipt to us via the contact form

What is Direct debit?

Direct debit ("AvtaleGiro") is a payment agreement between you and your bank. With AvtaleGiro, you are automatically charged for the membership every month, without any invoice fee. The amount that is deducted each month is of course not more than agreed memebership price. Remember that this is only a payment method, and it is not sufficient to end this to cancel the membership.

How do I create a Direct debit agreement?

The easiest way to create AvtaleGiro is via "My Page" on sio.no. Click on "My membership" and "create AvtaleGiro". You can also create AvtaleGiro manually in your own bank. Enter information such as your personal KID number and SiO Athletica's account number. Due date is the 1st of each month.If you need help creating AvtaleGiro, you can sign an AvtaleGiro form in one of our receptions.Note that by creating AvtaleGiro, the activation in your bank can take up to 6-8 weeks. The amount that is deducted each month is of course not more than agreed memebership price.If you do not have a Norwegian bank account, we remind you that you have to pay your monthly invoices at My page at sio.no/en.

Why is the Avtalegiro agreement not activated?

There can be several reasons why the direct debit is not activated:

I have changed my bank connection, how about my AvtaleGiro?

If you create a new AvtaleGiro in your new bank, the old agreement will be deleted, and the new agreement applies.

Freeze of membership

How do I freeze my membership?

You register your freeze period on My page - Training - My membership, or by visiting one of our receptions. You can freeze your membership at the earliest from the day after you have given notice that you wish to freeze your membership.

How long can I freeze my membership?

If you have a membership with commitment period, you can freeze your membership for two months in the first year within the commitment period. You can then freeze one month each calendar year.Note that the commitment period is moved forward by the same number of months as you freeze. If you dont have commitment period, you can freeze your membership for one month per calendar year. If you are a student and going on an exchange, you can freeze your membership during the period you are away by sending us documentation of the exchange. To submit documentation, use our contact form. Select the category Training and inquiry Other.It is only possible to freeze entire calendar months.

Termination of membership

How do I terminate my membership?

Termination of membership is registered on My page - Training - My membership, or by visiting one of our receptions.

How long is the notice period?

The notice period is one month, calculated from the first of the following month. If you have a membership with commitment period, you must have been a member for a minimum of 12 paying months before you can terminate your membership. After the commitment period is over, the membership runs until you cancel it.

Group training

How do I sign up for a group traning class?

Here you can see the timetable for all our group training classes and book a spot. You can also book in the SiO Athletica app. Open the app and click on "Schedule" in the bottom menu. Click on "Change department" to see group classes at the desired club. Click on the class you wish to book, and then select "Book a session".Make sure to read about our booking rules for group classes.

Can I be put on a wating list if the group training is full?

If the group traning classes are full, you can put yourself on the waiting list. In the SiO Athletica-app you do this by clicking on the "Book waitinglist" button. You will then be told which number you are on the waiting list.Check "My bookings" to see an updated waiting list. There are frequent cancellations and they typically happen just before the cancellation deadline. We will send you an SMS when you have secured a place in the class. It is important that you have your phone number registered on "My page" so that you receive the message.

How do I cancel a group traning booking?

If you cannot attend the class you have booked, you can cancel the booking up to three hours before the class starts. You do this in the SiO Athletica app or on the website.Remember: we want you to cancel your booking as early as possible so that others can benefit from the available spot.

Why am I banned from booking a group training class?

If you do not attend the class you have booked, or you are too late to cancel, the class will be registered as a no-show. If this happens twice, you will have a booking block. This lasts for 30 days and then you cannot pre-book group lessons. You can pay NOK 75 at the reception to cancel the booking block. To have a booking block removed, you must contact one of our receptions.Note: during the period you have a booking block, you can book group lessons at the reception within 60 minutes before the lesson starts.

Courses

Which courses do you offer?

SiO Athletica offers a wide selcton of courses, from modern dance and yoga to martial arts and swimming technique. In the winter we have courses in ski technique and in the summer in tennis. The courses often vary from season to season.Read more about our courses here.

Can I join a course even though I am not an SiO Athletica member?

You can take part in courses even if you do not have a membership with us. For a 6-week course, the price is NOK 1,550 for non-members. For mini courses, the price is NOK 499 for non-members. Registration and payment are made at the reception at one of our training centres.Read more about our courses here.

The course has started, can I still join?

You can join the course as long as we have available spots, even though the course has started. Sign up in on of our receptions.

Im unable to pay for the course online, what can be wrong?

If you experience problems with our course booking, it may be that you have stored a payment card that has expired. We recommend that you delete the saved payment card on My page and try again. You can also register at one of our receptions.We would like to hear from you if you receive an error message and are not paid online.

Student status

Why have I received an SMS/Email about having to show my student ID?

Every semester, SiO Athletica carries out a check on members who have purchased membership at the student price. If you have received an SMS/email, it means that we have not registered a valid student ID in our systems. In order for you to continue to get your membership at the student price, you must show your student ID so that we can register this.

Personal training

How can I find a PT that suits me?

You can read about vour competent PT team here, but you can also send us a message, and then we find a PT that suits you. It is good if you state which center you want to train at, what time of day is best, and if you have any goals for the training. The PT will then contact you to arrange the first meeting/appointment.

How do I book an appointment with one of your masseurs?

You can contact one of our masseuses directly to arrange an appointment. You can find an overview of all our masseuses at th  PT team page. There you can filtrate on "goal for the work" out and choose "massage".You can also send us a message and then will one of our masseurs be in contact with you.
