This is included in the membership

When you buy a membership in SiO Athletica, you can use all our six clubs in Oslo. As a member, you can participate in group training classes, train in studio, and use the swimming pool, multi-purpose hall, artificial turf football field and climbing wall.In addition to what is included in the membership, we also offer a number of courses, and booking of squash and tennis court at an small additional cost.You do not have to be a student to train with us, but as a student you get an extra good price for your membership. You must be over 18 years old and children can not participate in training (with the exception of family swimming and swimming lessons for children).

Prices for membership

Prices for membership depends on whether you are a student or not, and where you study. We have student friendly prices, and there is also some study places that support their student with financial contributions to SiO Athetica. The price can therefor vary from the different educational institutions.

Membership with and without commitment period

You can choose whether you want a membership with or wihtout commitment period. Membership with commitment has a lower monthly cost than without commitment period.

Important to know when buying membership

If you are a student and has not payed the semester fee yet or just payed it, we might not have registred a paid semester fee on your user. If that is the case you will not be able to buy membership online, but if you stop by one of our receptions we will help you.When you decide to join us, you pay for the remaining days of the current month and the whole of next month when purchasing a membership. If you select a month to month membership you pay an additional start fee of 100 NOK. After this you have to pay monthly for your membership. We recommend you to activate direct debit (Avtalegiro) if you have a Norwegian bank account. If you do not activate direct debit you will receive the invoice by email, and you have to pay it manually.If you do not have a Norwegian bank account, we remind you that you have to pay your monthly invoices at My page at sio.no/en.Under our frequently asked questions and answers you will find more information about Direct Debit.

Freeze of membership

If your are going away or is unable to train for a while you can freeze you membership in the meantime. You register freeze on My page or in the reception by dropping by at any of the SiO Athletica facilities. A membership freeze period can start the day after you have given notice.If you have a membership with commitment you can freeze your membership for up to two months the first year. When freezing your membership your commitment period will be extended for an equal period. If you have a month to month membership you can freeze your membership for one month each calendar year.If you are going on exchange you can freeze the membership the whole time your are away. If this is the case, please send us documentation of your exchange programme through our contact form.

Termination of membership

Termination of membership can be done at My Page or in person at any SiO Athletica facility. The notice period is one month from the first day of the following month. If you have a membership with commitment period, you must have been a member for a minimum of 12 paying months before you can terminate your membership. The membership runs until you terminate it.

General conditions for membership

General SiO Athletica is a part of Studentsamskipnaden SiO. The membership terms are a part of the membership agreement between the member stated in this contract and SiO Athletica. As a member of SiO Athletica you agree to comply with current rules and regulations always stated under «Sports» at sio.no. SiO Athletica may with immediate effect cancel the membership of any member who does not comply with the membership terms and/or gym rules and regulations, or if the member does not adhere to warning(s) issued by SiO Athletica. SiO Athletica is not responsible for reduction in services when the cause of the reduction lies beyond SiO Athletica´s control (Force majeure).

MembershipSiO Athletica’s memberships and prices are at any time stated on sio.no, where additional information about our products, services and prices can be found. A membership is effective from enrolment date until termination/cancellation of the membership. Cancellation of the membership is subject to current cancellation terms. Types of memberships where you sign up for a preset period, will after the expiration of the subscription continue until cancelled. When enrolling on a membership with a commitment period, the commitment period will be a minimum of 12 calendar months at the regular monthly price. SiO Athletica can make changes to their gyms, equipment, or other offers without any implications to the membership. Membership at SiO Athletica is available for individuals over the age of 18.

AccessMembers of SiO Athletica must have an active membership to access the training facilities. A valid admission certificate must be presented at each visit. The membership is personal and cannot be used by anyone else but yourself.

Personal details It is the responsibility of the member to ensure that member information on "my page" at sio.no is always up to date. This includes information such as correct address, e-mail address, phone number and other personal details. Information about how your personal data is managed relating to your membership can be found by reading the SiO privacy policy here: https://www.sio.no/en/about-sio/privacy-policy-and-cookies.

Consent At the time of enrollment, the member consents to SiO Athletica being able to send information to the member through SMS, e-mail, and other means of communication. This is to be able to inform and market Athletica's products and/or offers and is in accordance with § 15 of the Norwegian Marketing Act. The member has the right, at any time, to revoke one's consent to receiving information regarding marketing of Athletica’s offers, by contacting SiO Athletica about this matter.

PricesPrices are set according to the price guidelines available at sio.no. To acquire and maintain your student price for your membership, proof of valid student identification and a paid semester fee to your institution is required. It is your duty to inform SiO Athletica about all changes with regards to circumstances that might affect the price of your membership or other services that SiO Athletica offer. Should the price of your membership change due to lack of valid documentation proving your right to a discounted membership, your membership will continue without a discount for the remaining period, according to your membership agreement. If valid proof of right to discounted prices is not presented, you will be charged for any price difference that has not been paid. SiO Athletica reserves the right to adjust membership prices. Should price alterations occur, changes will be stated at sio.no and members will be notified through current means of communication.

Payment Primary means of payment is by direct debit (Avtalegiro) with your Norwegian bank account. Due date for your membership fee is the first (1) of each month. You are responsible for ensuring that your membership fee is paid and for the setup of direct debit with your bank. Late membership fee payments may result in SiO Athletica claiming payment for any surcharges and interest, all in accordance with the Norwegian law regarding late payments (“Lov om renter ved forsinket betaling m.m”).

Termination of membership There is a one (1) months’ notice for termination of the membership, effective from the first (1) of the month after we receive notification. At termination, your membership will continue at a minimum the amount of time obliged to by initial agreement. Termination of membership can be done at My Page or in person at any SiO Athletica facility.

Membership put on hold («freeze»)To put your membership on hold is a temporary pause in your membership. You cannot use your membership and will not be receiving any invoice(s) for membership fees during this period. A membership freeze period can start the day after you have given notice. A membership can be frozen for a period of one or two whole months, with regards to the member being in or without a commitment period, within the calendar year. If you have signed up for a membership where you are committed for a certain amount of time, a hold will result in your commitment to us being extended for the corresponding amount of time you have put on hold. To put your membership on hold you are required to do so at MyPage or in person at any of the SiO Athletica facilities. It is not possible to freeze your membership once you have given your final notice.

Right of withdrawal If the membership is entered outside one of our SiO Athletica training facilities, the member has the right to terminate the membership agreement (right of withdrawal) by giving written notice to SiO Athletica within 14 days after the initial agreement, cf. § 11 of the Norwegian law of right of withdrawal (“Angrerettloven”). When using the right of withdrawal, SiO Athletica can demand payment for the membership from the day the membership is entered, until the day the member invokes the right of withdrawal.

SafetyThe member is responsible for being in a state of mental and physical condition which allows safe use of the training facilities. All exercise at SiO Athletica is at your own risk. It is the individual member's responsibility to take out individual insurance if the member finds this necessary in relation to the activity carried out at SiO Athletica.  Only Athletica employees are allowed train and instruct other members. SiO Athletica is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items, because of break-in or other reasons. SiO Athletica has no tolerance for threatening and aggressive behaviour, violence, harassment, or unwanted sexual advances.

Anti-dopingSiO Athletica has an agreement with Anti-doping Norway to keep our gyms free of doping. As a member of SiO Athletica you agree to not use any form of prohibited stimulants or doping substances which are listed on Anti-doping Norway's list of prohibited substances. The list can be found on www.antidoping.no. SiO Athletica can, in collaboration with Antidoping Norway, carry out doping controls at the gyms. As a member of SiO Athletica, you will have to voluntarily sign a doping control declaration form where you accept to provide a doping sample. A positive doping sample, omission to sign the doping control declaration form, or failure to attend a doping test, is considered a material breach of the membership agreement and can result in termination of the agreement with immediate effect. With effect from July 1st 2013, all use of doping agents is criminalized according to the Act on Medicinal Products §24 a. Clearly effected, or suspicion of drug abuse on SiO Athletica may be reported to the police.

• The childcare is available for SiO Athletica members' children aged 6 weeks up to 11 years old. Members can only deliver their own child, not friends' or children of other members.• The childcare can only be used when the child's parent/guardians are to workout at Athletica Vulkan.• Children arriving at the childcare should wash their hands or use antibacterial gel/spray (only children over 3 years).• Parents are responsible for checking in their children and signing the registration form when they arrive.• If the child on arrival is delivered sleeping in a stroller, parents/guardians have the responsibility for ensuring that the stroller and the child are secured in an appropriate manner within the referred area.• A visit to SiO Athletica's childcare lasts a maximum of 1.5 hours. The maximum number of hours per week is 10 hours per child.• In order to safeguard the interests of all members, as well as the safety of children, children are only to stay in SiO Athletica's childcare facilities, not in the training area or changing rooms.• The child may need time to get used to the childcare and it is expected that the parent/guardian sets aside time for this. Beyond the habituation period, parents/guardians must not stay in childcare.• It must be the same parent/guardian who delivers and picks up the child. Exceptions can be made if the employees at SiO Athletica childcare are informed, and names and information about this is registered on arrival. The information is registered on the child's registration form. Employees have a duty to request valid identification.• Parents/guardians must stay in SiO Athletica's premises throughout the period the child is on childcare. The employees take care of the children, but the parents/guardians have the main responsibility for their children during their stay at SiO Athletica. Employees must be able to contact parents/guardians if the child becomes upset or does not function in the childcare environment. Parents/guardians will be picked up if the child is sad or cries unstoppably.• Only healthy children without infectious diseases can visit the childcare. If the child has shown signs of illness, it should have been asymptomatic for at least two days before visiting the childcare.• With regard to children's safety and possible allergies, food and drinks are not allowed in childcare. The exceptions are gruel, infant formula and water.• The staff at SiO Athletica's childcare must supervise all the children and they therefore do not change diapers. If a diaper change is required, parents/guardians will be contacted.• For the sake of the children's safety, it is not allowed to bring toys to the childcare. The exceptions are made for cuddly cloths and stued animals that give the child security. SiO Athletica is not responsible for toys, clothes or anything else that the children may bring with them to the childcare.• All strollers must be marked with the child's name, this ensures that the child is put in the correct one if it falls asleep.• SiO Athletica is not responsible for valuables placed in the stroller.• Children should not wear necklaces or wear clothes with laces during their stay at SiO Athletica's childcare.• It is recommended that children wear non-slip socks during childcare.• Children can get in touch with perfume or perfumed creams at SiO Athletica’s childcare.• Children's movies are shown at SiO Athletica's childcare.• SiO Athletica's childcare can receive up to 5 children per employee at work in the childcare. Children from 6 weeks to 2 years counts as two children. The number of children can be adjusted downwards in accordance with the group's composition and other factors that affect children's safety and well-being. The employees controls this at all time.

  1. Right of Withdrawal

1.1 Purchases Covered by the Right of Withdrawal

The Right of Withdrawal Act applies only to purchases made outside SiO Athletica’s physical facilities, including purchases completed via sio.no.For purchases made through sio.no, the Right of Withdrawal Act applies to the following services:

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the customer must submit a written notification to SiO Athletica within 14 days from the date of purchase, in accordance with the provisions of the Right of Withdrawal Act.Notifications regarding the use of the right of withdrawal must be submitted via the contact form on sio.no.

1.2 Purchases Not Covered by the Right of Withdrawal

Purchases made in SiO Athletica’s physical facilities, regardless of the service, are not covered by the Right of Withdrawal Act. This includes purchases made at the reception or through self-service solutions in the training centers.In addition, the following services are exempt from the right of withdrawal pursuant to Section 22, letter m of the Right of Withdrawal Act, which covers time-specific leisure activities:

No right of withdrawal is provided for these services once the purchase has been completed.

Guest training at other student welfare organizations

As a student and a SiO Athletica member you can guest train for free at other student welfare training facilities in other parts of Norway. Students from these welfare organisations can also guest train for free with us in SiO Athletica. Read more about the guest training arrangement here.To guest train you must identify yourself by presenting a valid membership. You can find this at My Page. If you have temporarily paused your membership you can not guest train.
