# SK Global Scholarship

### 1. Description of the Scholarship Program

- The SK Global Scholarship Program is intended for students who wish to pursue a master’s degree in Semiconductor or AI/IT-related fields at Korea University Graduate School in Seoul.
- The program offers students from selected regions the opportunity to study cutting-edge technologies while promoting international academic exchange and strengthening mutual understanding between the Republic of Korea and participating regions:
  - ※ Europe (19): Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine
  - ※ Southeast Asia (11): East Timor, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines
  - ※ East Asia (2): Japan, Taiwan  — applicable to the Semiconductor field only
  - ※ South Asia (2): India, Pakistan
- Scholarship benefits are as follows.

| Round-trip Airfare | 3,000,000 KRW (max.) | At the time of initial entry (1.5M max.) + final departure (1.5M max.)  (actual expense, airfare receipt required) |
| Entrance Fee | 1,142,000 KRW | Beginning of 1st semester |
| Tuition Fee | 7,392,000 KRW \* 4 semesters | Beginning of each semester |
| Living expenses | 1,500,000 KRW /month | Beginning of each month (for 2years) |
| Medical insurance | standard amount set by KU | Beginning of each month (for 2years)  ※ This is a private insurance plan, separate from the National Health Insurance system |
| Korean Language   Training fee (optional) | amount that exceeds 1 million KRW   (set by KU) | A month before 1st semester |

- Students who will be recommended for the scholarship must have the following eligibilities.

| Citizenship or Region | - All applicants must hold citizenship from one of the eligible regions listed below:  ※ Europe (19): Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine  ※ Southeast Asia (11): East Timor, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines  ※ East Asia (2): Japan, Taiwan — applicable to the Semiconductor field only  ※ South Asia (2): India, Pakistan  - The applicants’ parents must hold citizenship from regions other than South Korea.  - If the applicant’s citizenship changes to a region outside the eligible list during the selection process, the applicant will be excluded from evaluation. |
| Level of Education | A bachelor’s degree holder who (are expected to) graduate from university |
| Language Proficiency   (English or Korean) | All the students must submit one or more of the following documents.   - TOEFL iBT score report of 71 of higher (Home Edition & Enhancement are acceptable)   - Academic IELTS 5.5 or higher (IELTS Home Test is NOT acceptable)   - CEFR level B2 or higher (CEFR Online Test is also acceptable: https://www.efset.org/)   - New TEPS 326 or higher   - A score report of TOPIK level 3 or higher   \* Applicants who have completed their degree program (BA) in English are not required to submit proof of language proficiency. |

### 2. Field of Study (Quota)

- Each cohort will admit up to 20 students, with 10 in AI/IT and 10 in the Semiconductor field
- For the AI/IT track, the available departments and majors in the SK Global Scholarship Program are as follows:

### 3. Overall Procedure and Application Guide

##### Admission Process

Applicants are required to submit online admission application and required documents.\
(No Application Fee)

##### Application Review

Application documents will be evaluated by the review committee of each department.\
(No Exams or Interviews ※ An interview can be conducted if requested by the department)

##### Final Result Release

The announcement of finally selected SK scholars will be made.
