P4. Empower staff and students by investing in a culture of enablement and incentivise development, collaboration, and sharing of practice

Far beyond any other factor in support of our world-leading research and education are the people that represent Cambridge. Our approaches to blended learning are only as effective as the staff who develop them and the students who engage with them. The other areas of prioritisation are designed to inform, respond, and enhance the utilities available to members of the University, but above all our commitment as an institution should be to recognise the efforts and value brought by those same individuals.

Technology should be seen as an enabler allowing staff and students to achieve their ambitions with relative ease and suitable support. Embracing a community to share these ideas, develop improved practice, and facilitate wider participation relies on fostering a culture of enablement and incentivisation. The University commits to developing these solutions alongside our staff and students to further emphasise and achieve our collective priorities

P4.1 Embrace collaboration and respect disciplinary diversity to foster a culture of shared experience and value

P4.2 Review and improve methods of communication to facilitate wider participation and investment in ongoing priorities

P4.3 Utilise the collegiate community to develop reliable systems of user research and collaborative development

P4.4 Engage more consistently as a community of peers and with the higher education sector sharing our progress and learning from one another

P4.5 Incentivise, recognise, and value staff commitments to progressing their own practice and supporting the progress of university priorities
