Financial policy as the foundation of a healthy university

At the UvA, we are committed to financial transparency. We provide insight into our financial structure in the framework letter, budget, annual report, allocation model and accommodations plan.

Planning and control cycle

The P&C cycle is part of UvA's governance model and ensures that we can plan, adjust and be accountable. View all the steps in the P&C process.

• The annual report is a document that provides information about the UvA's policy and results for accountability purposes.
• The Framework Letter forms the start of a new planning and control cycle. In this Letter, all the UvA’s organisational units indicate what they want to achieve in the upcoming year, how they are going to do this and ...
• The budget shows how the UvA’s plans and ambitions fit into the financial frameworks described in the Framework Letter.
• The allocation model describes how primary funding (government grants and tuition fees) will be allocated. It determines how much budget the faculties are allocated and forms the basis of the UvA's budget cycle.
• The UvA has a special and diverse property portfolio. It is used to house education, research and valorisation, with different space requirements.
