Reporting an emergency

If you are at a UvA location and an emergency occurs, call the UvA emergency number immediately: +31 (0)20 525 2222 (available 24/7) or report the situation to the building’s reception desk.
Making a report
- Call the UvA Central Control Room at +31 (0)20 525 2222 or notify the building's reception desk.
- Reception desk contact details can be found in the UvA location overview.
- An in-house emergency response officer (BHV) will be dispatched immediately.
- You will receive instructions on what actions to take.
- External emergency services (ambulance, fire brigade, police) will be called in if necessary.
- The BHV officer will provide first aid and coordinate emergency procedures on site .
Situations requiring immediate action
Not sure whether to report? Always report situations like:
- Serious injuries or a (severe) first aid incident
- Fire or smoke development
- Smell of gas
- Aggression or threats
- Major leaks with risk of short circuit or power outage
