Everyone should be able to access our buildings. New buildings are fully wheelchair accessible, though adaptations are limited in the historic buildings in the city centre. Read more about how to access our buildings and facilities.

Most UvA locations are easily accessible by public transport and bicycle, and do not have their own parking facilities. A few UvA locations offer dedicated parking spaces for visitors with a European disabled parking card (GPK). You can find more information on the ‘Parking’ page.

Facilities in the buildings

All UvA buildings have at least one wheelchair-accessible toilet. Most buildings also have a space for expressing milk and resting. If you need a pass to access these, the reception can arrange this for you. More information about the facilities and accessibility of the building you are visiting is available via the location overview:

Assistance dogs and mobility aids

Assistance dogs are welcome, provided they wear a clearly recognisable assistance dog vest. You may also use mobility aids or small assistance vehicles. Assistance vehicles with combustion engines are not permitted inside.

Lecture halls

Around 90% of our lecture halls are accessible for wheelchair users, and some locations have lecture halls equipped with hearing loops. An overview is available on the student site.
