## You will need these tools to start your studies
### HU account
Have you received a letter from the Enrolment Office with a PIN and don't know what it's for? No problem! With the PIN you can create your own HU account. This will give you a **student e-mail address** that you can use to receive important notifications about your studies.
For example, you can get in touch with your professors or receive course enrolment confirmations. HU **& Charité students** can create their own HU account on the [website of our Computer and Media Service](https://www.cms.hu-berlin.de/de/dl/beratung/anmeld_html "Zur Website des Computer- und Medienservice") using a web form. Please note that the details must be identical to your enrolment details, including all first and last names.
### WLAN
All members of the university have access to Humboldt-Universität's Wi-Fi network, the so-called eduroam. You need an HU account to set up the network. You can find out how to set up the network on the [Computer and Media Service website](https://www.cms.hu-berlin.de/de/dl/netze/wlan "Zur Website des Computer- und Medienservice").
### Campus Card
The Campus Card combines three central functions: Student ID, canteen card and library card. You can get the Campus Card at one of four vending machines. You can also use it via app. You will find the machines at the following locations:

By clicking on the menu item "Search courses" you can find your course and register for it. You will receive the required access key from your lecturers. There are also free courses in which you can enrol. You are welcome to register for [Studi-Support](https://moodle.hu-berlin.de/course/view.php?id=126177 "Studi-Support bei Moodle") - the course especially for newly enrolled students.
## How to create a timetable with Agnes?
At Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, you create your own timetable. To do this, use the study and examination regulations as well as the study plans for your subject. In [AGNES](https://hu.berlin/agnes "Studienverlaufspläne, Vorlesungsverzeichnis") you select modules and courses, enter them in your personal timetable and receive the final group allocation. You can find details on transferable modules, credit points or special cases for teachers directly in the AGNES help centre. If you have any questions, the orientation events and the student counselling service at your institute can help.
This video provides an overview of the functions in Agnes for creating a timetable as well as an excursus on the use of the respective underlying study regulations.
