Interdisciplinary competences
You can acquire interdisciplinary skills during your degree programme. This usually takes place in the interdisciplinary compulsory elective area (ÜWP). In this area, courses (modules) are offered in which you can acquire interdisciplinary specialised knowledge. Please refer to your study and examination regulations to find out whether your degree programme includes an ÜWP. Please also take a look at the FAQ .
Career Centre: Professional competences
The Career Centre offers specially developed courses with future skills for career orientation and career entry. The courses are worth 1 to 5 credit points (CP) and are not graded.
Berlin University Alliance: cutting-edge research and teaching
The Berlin University Alliance is supported by four institutions: Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. The BUA aims to further strengthen the link between cutting-edge research and teaching and promote the exchange of excellent academics and students.
International: Berlin Perspectives
Berlin Perspectives is an interdisciplinary seminar programme for international programme students and regular students at Humboldt-Universität in the ÜWP. All seminars take the city of Berlin as their thematic point of reference and look at various aspects of the history, society,\ culture and politics of Germany and Europe in the world. They are held in English or in bilingual English-German formats.
