# Undergraduate Double Degrees

> *A candidate pursuing a second baccalaureate degree must have completed all the essential work of the second curriculum not covered in the first. In all such cases, the total semester hours required must be at least 30 hours additional to the greater number required for either degree. The student must have a minimum of 36 hours of 300- and 400-level courses, 12 of which must be in the major field of study, in residence at Texas A&M. The student must also meet the citizenship requirements for history and political science.* (From [Texas A&M University Student Rule 14.4](http://student-rules.tamu.edu/rule14))

Each degree awarded by Texas A&M University has its own unique program requirements. In order to determine the specific program requirements a student will need to complete in order to earn a second degree in degree program, please contact the academic department or college which offers the degree. Please also refer to [Texas A&M University Student Rule 14.4](http://student-rules.tamu.edu/rule14) to view additional University general degree requirements for a student wishing to pursue a second undergraduate degree at Texas A&M.\

Additional Curriculum Requests, including Double Degrees for an undergraduate student is initiated by the primary advisor or dean. Any student wishing to add a second degree should visit with their academic advisor.\
