Prospective and Admitted Undergraduate Student Resources

Navigating the admissions process can be quite daunting. Students have to understand all the documents required for admissions and the different ways the documents must be submitted. The Undergraduate Document Submission page provides instructions for sending official documents prior to admission and after admission to Texas A&M University.\ \

Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS)

The Texas A&M University STARS is separate from the admissions application and can be linked to your application only after submitting the online application. A STARS account can be created at any time. Once you have completed the STARS Record and have access to the Applicant Information System, you must link your STARS Record through ‘Documents Required for Admission’ checklist displayed in AIS.\

High School Transcripts

Before Graduation After Graduation
Texas A&M uses the Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS) and only a select group of applicants are required to submit a high school transcript as part of the application file. High School Transcripts should only be provided if: 1. The applicant is attending a Texas high school and is ranked in the Top 10% of the graduating class. 2. The high school transcript is marked as a document required for admission on the checklist in the Applicant Information System (AIS). High School Transcripts can be submitted via: - TREx (Texas High Schools only) - Applicant Information System (AIS) document upload feature after application submission - The Common App portal (retrieved if necessary; usually once the STARS Record is received) - Electronically using a sending service (such as Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse) - Mail or hand delivered to the Aggie One Stop or regional Prospective Student Center in a sealed school envelope. Transcripts emailed as attachments are NOT accepted. Students who have graduated High School must submit a transcript that includes: - A list of all courses completed and final grades - Graduation date - Signature of a school official or school seal Official Final High School Transcripts can be submitted via: - TREx (Texas High Schools only) - The Common App portal (retrieved if necessary; usually once the STARS Record is received) - Electronically using a sending service (such as Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse)  - Mail or hand delivered to the Aggie One Stop or regional Prospective Student Center in a sealed school envelope. Home-schooled applicants Homeschooled applicants must submit a final home-school transcript through: - Mail - Hand delivered to the Aggie One Stop or regional Prospective Student Center Transcripts emailed as attachments are NOT accepted. International applicants International applicants that have graduated from a secondary school, a final transcript that shows all coursework, date of graduation, diploma, leaving certificate, or official examination results must be sent through the mail or hand-delivered to the Aggie One Stop.

College Transcripts

Requirements College Transcripts
All applicants must submit official transcripts from any enrollment at a college, post-secondary school, or university, including where you: - Earned dual credit while in high school - Earned credit that was then transferred to another institution - Enrolled in courses but no credit was earned Some colleges are able to submit transcripts electronically on your behalf using SPEEDE, National Student Clearing House, Parchment or another 3rd party vendor utilized by your college. Connect with your institution's Registrar's Office to request an official transcript to be sent to us on your behalf. Official college transcripts may also be submitted by your college through the Common App, mail or hand-delivered to the Aggie One Stop. Mailing and hand-delivery may result in processing delays.  We do not accept transcripts submitted via email.

International Transcripts

Requirements International Secondary Schools International Post-Secondary
All transcripts in a language other than English must include an English translation or credential evaluation prepared by a recognized service and include all original seals and/or signatures. Official records require the original school seal or an original signature of a school official (Registrar, Principal, Headmaster or Director of Student Records, Controller of Examinations, or the Ministry of Education). Faxed or emailed copies of transcripts will not be accepted. International applicants that have not graduated from a secondary school, an official record or transcript (mark sheet) that shows all coursework starting with ninth grade through the end of eleventh grade can be uploaded through the AIS Page. Applicants should also include copies of official final examinations taken at the end of secondary school programs, including external exams like General Certificate of Education (GCE) "O" and "A" level examinations. For international applicants that have graduated from a secondary school, a final transcript that shows all coursework, date of graduation, diploma, leaving certificate, or official examination results may be sent electronically from your school through a 3rd party vendor.  Official documents may also be submitted by your school through the Common App, mail or hand-delivered to the Aggie One Stop. Mailing and hand-delivery may result in processing delays. Final transcripts may NOT be uploaded through AIS. We DO NOT accept transcripts submitted via email. Students that complete the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exam must provide the necessary information for Texas A&M to verify the WAEC results, typically a WAEC scratch card or results checker, by the application closing date. Applicants will be required to submit official transcripts from all post-secondary (university and college-level) schools attended.  Additionally, all official secondary or high school transcripts according to the education system of your country (generally the last three to four years of secondary education) will be required for your application. Colleges may submit transcripts electronically on your behalf using SPEEDE, National Student Clearing House, Parchment or another 3rd party vendor utilized by your college. Official college transcripts may also be submitted by your college through the Common App, mail or hand-delivered to the Aggie One Stop.  Mailing and hand-delivery may result in processing delays. We do not accept transcripts submitted via email.

Essay/Statement of Purpose

All applicants are encouraged to submit the essay/statement of purpose as part of the application. \ \ If an applicant cannot submit the essay with the application, please upload it through the My Documents tab on the Applicant Information System.

Application Fee

Fee Waivers Application Fee
Freshmen applicants may request a fee waiver by indicating their eligibility on the online application. A separate request form is not required however, students may be required to submit documentation in support of a request. Freshman applicants submitting the Common App MUST indicate eligibility on the Texas A&M fee waiver question. Answering only the Common App fee waiver question is not acceptable. All other Undergraduate Applicants must provide a copy of an award letter from their current institution showing a Pell Grant was awarded or a copy of the FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) found within a current FAFSA. The information shown in the FSS will be reviewed to see if the applicant is eligible for a waiver. Veterans are eligible for a fee waiver by identifying their veteran status on the application and uploading a DD214 or JST to their applicant portal.   Checking the fee waiver box on the application will not satisfy the fee waiver requirement. Documentation can be uploaded through the My Documents tab in the Applicant Information System, which is accessible after a student submits an application. International applicants are not eligible for a fee waiver. There are three convenient ways to pay your application fee. First, you can pay directly within the Common App when you submit your application. Note: If you apply using ApplyTexas, you will not be able to pay your fee within the application. Second, for ApplyTexas applicants, after submitting your application, watch for an email from Application@tamu.edu with instructions to access your UIN and activate your NetID. Then, log in to the Applicant Information System to pay or waive your fee. Lastly, you can call the Fee Office at (979) 458-5155 to pay via credit card over the phone.

Official Test Scores

SAT/ACT Scores IELTS TOEFL
Test scores must be sent through the testing agency to be considered official. Students will be required to contact the testing agency and request the scores be sent to Texas A&M University - College Station. SAT Code - 6003 ACT Code - 4198 Texas A&M University only accepts scores submitted electronically by the IELTS test center. No paper Test Report Forms will be accepted. Please contact the test center where you took the IELTS test and request that your test scores be sent electronically to Texas A&M University (College Station and Galveston). Please note: there may be multiple instances of Texas A&M University. Tests should be taken at least eight weeks prior to the appropriate application deadline to ensure timely receipt and processing of results. To report TOEFL scores: Use code 6003 for reporting TOEFL scores to the Texas A&M University.

Residency Documents

Permanent Resident Card Senate Bill 1528 Affidavit
Students who are not U.S. citizens but are permanent residents (or have applied for permanent residency) need to provide a copy of the card or proof of application. This document should be uploaded through the My Documents tab on the Applicant Information System. The document can also be submitted via mail or hand-delivered to the Aggie One Stop. Students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents (or have applied for permanent residency), but have established legal presence may qualify for in-state tuition rate if they have lived in Texas for 36 months leading up to high school graduation and the 12 months prior to intended enrollment. In order to be eligible for in-state tuition rates under Senate Bill 1528, students must submit the Affidavit of Intent to Become a Permanent Residentand immigration documentation by uploading the documents via the My Documents tab in the Applicant Information System (AIS). Students who do not provide the above documentation will be charged the non-resident tuition rate.
