Athletics Aid
Depending on the offer provided on your Statement of Financial Aid (SFA), you may receive funding for all or some of the following:
- Tuition
- Required Fees
- Books
- Housing
- Food
- Miscellaneous Expenses
- Partial Athletic Scholarship
\
Billing Explanation
- If you have completed all eligibility requirements, athletic aid is paid no sooner than 10 days prior to the first day of class each semester.
- Athletic tuition and/or fee payments will appear on the student bill as ‘3rd Party Contract’ payments on the student account.
- A Book stipend does not disburse to the student billing account: it is a placeholder to reflect that a student-athlete is eligible to receive textbooks from the Texas A&M Bookstore as part of their athletic aid package.
- The Miscellaneous Expenses stipend disburses three times a semester.
- The Housing & Food Stipend disburses monthly or in one lump sum at the beginning of each term.
\
Non-Resident Tuition Waiver
Student-athletes do not automatically qualify for a non-resident tuition waiver as the result of receiving athletic scholarships. Student-athletes may qualify for a Competitive Scholarship Non-resident Tuition Waiver, should they meet all eligibility requirements.\ \
Outside Scholarships
- Student-athletes are encouraged to apply for outside scholarships, but should bear in mind that any aid received must be reviewed and approved to ensure NCAA compliance.
- All student athletes should report any anticipated aid via Teamworks on their Compliance Form, as well as the Report Outside Scholarships and Resources form on their Student Financial Aid Portal.
- Once a donor has awarded a scholarship, they are encouraged to send the scholarship check directly to Texas A&M. If the student-athlete receives the scholarship check directly, they should send the scholarship check via mail, or bring it in-person to the Aggie One Stop. Contact information for the donor (name, address, phone number, e-mail, etc) should be included with the scholarship check.
- All scholarships are reviewed by the Athletics Aid Coordinator and Athletics Compliance to determine if the scholarship is permissible. If approved, the scholarship is posted to the student-athlete’s fee statement.
