Academic Support and Success

\

Student Success

\ In 2019, Texas A&M University launched the Student Success Initiative, an effort to ensure more Aggies feel like they belong, stay in school, succeed academically, and graduate on time.\ \ \

Hullabaloo U Freshman Experience

\ These seminar courses help freshman students make a successful transition to campus, both academically and personally. Each student works with a faculty or staff instructor, a peer mentor and an intimate community of 25 other freshman students. The 50 minutes spent weekly with a Hullabaloo U group provides a safe place for freshman students to process this huge life change while surrounded by support to help them thrive.\ \ \

First–Generation Student Support

\ First-generation students make up roughly 25% of the Texas A&M student population. The Routh First-Generation Center provides support to these students through generous scholarships, learning communities, family resources, peer mentors and other outreach and recognition programs to celebrate their accomplishments.\ \ \

Help Desk

\ This is a resource for students who encounter barriers during their undergraduate experience and will help them stay on track for graduation, preferably within four years. The help desk staff will work with students, advisors, faculty and staff to overcome whatever might be standing in the way of success, such as course registration, change of majors and more.\ \ \

\ Navigate Student is a mobile app that helps students through key decision points throughout their college journey. It empowers them to resolve issues independently while connecting them to advisors and other offices for issues that require more intensive support. The Navigate Campus app allows students to better coordinate advising and tutoring sessions.\ \ \

Career Center

\ The mission of the Career Center is to promote career learning and development by offering support with resume and cover letter writing, hosting career fairs, providing interview practice and assisting with planning for professional or graduate school. The Career Center also helps Aggies find internships, co-ops and full-time jobs.\ \ \

Aggie Network

\ Housed in the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center, the Association of Former Students provides support to Aggies during their time at Texas A&M and beyond. Every year, more than 15,000 current students attend one of three Aggie Ring Days and receive the most visible symbol of the Aggie Network: the Aggie Ring. Before and after graduation, The Association of Former Students also provides Aggies with access to resources for life after college, including career networking.\ \
