# Academic Scholarships

Texas A&M University’s competitive four-year Academic Scholarships are offered by Scholarships & Financial Aid. These awards are available to incoming freshman admitted for the fall only. Our office will notify selected students of their scholarship offers in February of their high school senior year. Each scholarship includes a one-time $1000 scholarship to be used for a Texas A&M approved education abroad experience.\

### Presidents Endowed Scholarship

- $3000 per year for 4 years
- Must maintain a 3.5 overall GPR\

### Lechner Scholarship

- $2500 per year for 4 years
- Must maintain a 3.5 overall GPR\
  \

### McFadden Scholarship

- $2500 per year for 4 years
- Must maintain a 3.5 overall GPR

### Eligibility

To be considered for Academic Scholarships, Scholarships & Financial Aid will review your:\

- Academic achievement
- Campus and community activities
- Leadership roles
- Employment\

In order to provide scholarship opportunities to the greatest number of students, Texas A&M does not stack Academic Scholarships. If you qualify for more than one Academic Scholarship, our office will offer you the highest dollar-value scholarship only.\
\

### Duration

Academic Scholarships are four year awards. You must meet eligibility requirements each year to continue receiving your scholarship in future years.\
\

### Application

Apply using the [Common App](https://www.commonapp.org/) or [Apply Texas](https://www.applytexas.org/). You must complete the admission and scholarship portions to be considered. Students must also submit a Self-Reported Transcript Academic Record (STAR) in order to be considered for freshman scholarships.\
\

### Deadline

**December 1\***\
\
\*If the deadline falls on a weekend, the application will remain open until 11:59 PM (CST) on the following Monday.
