Highest Ranking Graduate (HRG) Tuition Waiver Document

\ State law provides that the highest ranking graduate from Texas high schools accredited by the Texas Education Agency are entitled to a tuition exemption during their freshmen year. \ \

Eligibility

• Must be a Texas Resident
• Must be certified as the highest ranking graduate from your high school.
• Texas A&M University must be the first college or university at which you enroll full-time.
• Exemption is granted for your first two long semesters immediately following graduation from high school.

Continued Eligibility

• You must maintain satisfactory academic progress toward your degree in order to receive the exemption during your second long semester.

Application

No application is required. However, eligible students must present a copy of the official Texas Education Agency Highest Ranking High School Graduate Declaration document to Scholarships & Financial Aid at Texas A&M University before the 12th class day of the fall semester in order to receive the exemption for both the fall and spring semesters. An official final high school transcript showing the student is ranked #1 in his or her class must also be on file with Admissions before the exemption will be applied. Eligible students may choose from the following options to submit the Tuition Waiver form:

• Upload the form in the My Financial Aid Portal of your Howdy, (preferred)
• Email a copy to scholarships@tamu.edu.
• Turn it in to the Aggie One Stop (while at your New Student Conference)
