Reed Arena
On the day of the ceremony, degree candidates are asked to arrive one hour before their ceremony begins. Check-in will take place at the North Entry of Reed Arena. Degree candidates must check in no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of their ceremony. Degree candidates that have not checked in by this time will be marked as absent and not announced in the ceremony. \ \ Please note, a Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for all commencement ceremonies at Reed Arena. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at designated areas. A full list of prohibited items at Reed Arena may be found on their Special Events Policies page.\ \
Honors Stoles
| Stoles for honor graduates will be distributed at the graduation venue before the ceremony begins. The graduate may keep these stoles after the ceremony. For more information on honors graduates, please visit the Graduating with Honors page. |
Tassels
All degree candidates wear tassels on the right side of their cap.
Degree Conferral Order
During the commencement ceremonies, degrees are conferred in the following order:\ \ Doctoral and Master's Ceremony: Degrees by college as listed.
- Within each college, doctoral students are ordered alphabetically by degree and then alphabetically by the student's name.
- Within each college, master's students are ordered alphabetically by department, major, and then by the student’s name (alphabetically).
Bachelor’s Ceremonies: Degrees by college as listed.
- Within each college, bachelor’s students are ordered alphabetically by department, degree, major, and then by the student’s name (alphabetically).
Ceremony Assignment for Dual Degrees
Students that have applied for multiple degrees in the same term will only participate in one commencement ceremony. Questions about this ceremony assignment can be directed to graduation@tamu.edu.\ \ Two Degrees at the same level:\ Students applied to earn two degrees at the same level in the same term (such as two undergraduate level degrees or two graduate level degrees) will walk with their primary degree program.\ \ Example:\
- Student with a primary degree of BA Spanish and a second degree of BS Mathematics will walk with the BA Spanish program.
- Student with a primary degree of Master of Architecture and a second degree of Master of Urban Planning will walk with the Master of Architecture program.
\ Two Degrees at different levels:\ Students applied to earn two degrees at different levels in the same term will walk with the primary degree program. This applies to all approved combination programs.

The following programs have been granted an exception to the college their students will participate with: \ \

Program Book - List of Graduates
A commencement booklet is offered to guests as they enter the graduation venue. This booklet contains the program, a list of all graduates, and other relevant ceremony information. This is the only public release of all graduates. The booklet is prepared by Curricular Services (979-845-8201) in the Office of the Registrar.

Master’s Regalia and Doctoral Hooding
Master's Regalia
Master’s degree candidates should have their hood on prior to arriving at Reed Arena. Watch the Graduate and Professional School's Hooding Process for Master's Students video on how to wear the master's hood properly.\ \
Doctoral Hooding
