# Alternative Admission Pathways

## More Ways to Become an Aggie

Each year, we receive over 59,000 applications for our freshman class, which means we have more qualified applicants than we can admit.\
\
If we are unable to offer you full admission to the College Station campus, don't worry. Your dream of attending Texas A&M doesn't stop there, as we may be able to admit you through one of the following pathways.  \
\
**You will be considered for admission to your first and second choice majors in College Station prior to being considered for any pathways.**\
**\**\

[Program for System Admission](https://admissions.tamu.edu/apply/freshman/program-for-system-admission) offers students the opportunity to enroll in a participating [Texas A&M system school](https://www.tamus.edu/system/about/) for one year with the intention of achieving guaranteed transfer admission to College Station upon successful completion of the program.\
\
[Aggie Gateway to Success](https://tap.tamu.edu/programs/gateway.html) is a summer provisional admission program that gives students a unique chance to gain full admission to the university the following fall semester. Due to coursework limitations, students with more than 40 hours of college credit are not eligible to participate in the Gateway program.\
\
[Texas A&M University Blinn Team Program](https://tap.tamu.edu/programs/team.html) is a collaborative admission program between Texas A&M University and Blinn College. Students are co-enrolled at both institutions. Due to coursework limitations, students with more than 40 hours of college credit are not eligible to participate in TEAM.\
\
[Texas A&M Engineering at Blinn](https://engineering.tamu.edu/admissions-and-aid/engineering-at-blinn-bryan/index.html) provides students an opportunity to pursue their engineering degree in a co-enrollment program between Texas A&M and Blinn College-Bryan Campus.\
\
[Engineering at Galveston](https://engineering.tamu.edu/admissions-and-aid/engineering-at-galveston/index.html) provides students an opportunity to begin their engineering studies on the Texas A&M Galveston campus and complete their engineering degree at Galveston or in College Station as part of the College of Engineering. Students are eligible to change campuses after just one year through the [Entry-To-A-Major](https://engineering.tamu.edu/academics/entry-to-a-major/index.html) process.\
\
[Higher Education Center at McAllen](https://mcallen.tamu.edu/) (HECM) offers uniquely designed degree options specially tailored to meet the needs of the Rio Grande Valley. Students begin their college career at HECM and may change campuses after one year.\
