# Connect with our Undergraduate Military Admissions Team

Military Admissions is dedicated to providing transitional support and admissions advising to prospective undergraduate student veterans, current military members, spouses and dependents. Our counselors will guide you through the freshman and transfer admissions processes, evaluate college credits from previous institutions and assist with choosing a major by discussing your career goals. We provide you the information necessary to be a competitive applicant. Once admitted, we will connect you with the campus resources you need, including education benefits processing, disability resources, dedicated academic coaching and career services. \
\
General information about graduate admissions is available online at [Graduate Admissions](https://admissions.tamu.edu/apply/graduate).  Graduate applicants are encouraged to contact the college/department to which they are applying for specific admission requirements and deadlines. \

## [U.S. Military Withdrawal and Deferment for Basic Training](#a-usmilitarywithdrawalanddefermentforbasictraining-ItNkZ8)

### Defer Admission Start Date for Basic Training and MOS School

Please be aware of the following information regarding a request to defer:

- This process applies students participating in U.S. Basic Training and MOS School. It does not apply to students with military obligations for foreign countries.
- You must be a fully admitted student to Texas A&M University at College Station.
- Other pathways to admission are not eligible to defer, such as PSA, Blinn Team, Engineering at Blinn, Gateway, Galveston, McAllen and others. Please contact the military admissions department if you have questions regarding pathways to admission.
- Admission can be deferred for one semester only, i.e., Fall to Spring or Spring to Fall.

To defer your admission, please complete and sign the [Military Deferral form](https://admissions.tamu.edu/getattachment/98d1c06a-77fc-49d9-b42d-a447c7a85f27/Military-Admissions_Request-to-Defer-Admission.pdf) and return it, along with a copy of your orders, to Military Admissions at [militaryadmissions@tamu.edu](mailto:militaryadmissions@tamu.edu).  If the deferral is for the Fall semester, the deferral will not be acted on until August to allow for any changes to dates by the military. We must have the form and orders on file to grant the request to defer your admission.

### Withdrawal Process To Accommodate Texas A&M University Students Called to Active U.S. Military Service

This process is for students called to active U.S. military service.  It does not apply to students with military obligations for foreign countries.

This process is for students called to active U.S. Military Service.  It does not apply to students with foreign military obligations. Before deciding to withdraw, please take the time to read through the directions on the [Military Withdrawal form](https://admissions.tamu.edu/getattachment/543b30b6-f5b3-42e3-8232-40d8c107695d/Military-Admissions_Instructions-and-Form_Withdrawal.pdf) and discuss the process with an Admissions Counselor in Military Admissions. Depending on the duration of your absence, withdrawal may not be required. In cases of short-term absence, it is advised that you work with your department or advisor to complete coursework instead of withdrawing. If withdrawal is required, the Military Admissions team will assist you through the readmission process. We encourage students to review the [Military Withdrawal FAQ page](https://admissions.tamu.edu/getmedia/34cd365c-2cf8-46ef-b4f0-ab5a1bc03649/Military-Admissions_FAQ_Withdrawal.pdf).
