Rationale for Consideration of Crime or Conduct Information Disclosed to Purdue During the Admission Process

Purdue University is committed to providing as safe of an environment for our students as possible. While many situations individuals are involved with may be resolved and accounted for, some behaviors are so egregious that the potential risk is too great to the Purdue community. Should Purdue learn of an applicant’s disciplinary or criminal offense, a review of the information could take place. A review committee for such information could include members of the Office of Admissions, Purdue University Police Department, Office of the Dean of Students, University Residences, Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars, and faculty. A disciplinary violation or conviction does not automatically result in the denial or rescindment of an individual’s application for admission.
